UNFI tokens holders can take two voluntary actions to upgrade their tokens through the Global Governance Model (GGM).
- Stake - This is the act of locking up tokens. Only Elite Class 1 tokens have an Unstake Waiting Period. All other tokens can be downgraded to Class 4 immediately by unstaking them, which enables the ability to trade with or send the tokens to another blockchain address.
- Delegate - Once UNFI tokens have been staked and enter Class 2, they are eligible to delegate to a Community CR. You are delegating your voting power in the GGM and allowing your chosen CCR to vote on proposals on your behalf.
Only Elite Class 1 tokens count towards the total delegation for a Community CR, which is how CCRs earn Community Rewards. So any Class 2 tokens that delegate their UNFI must wait some time before they become upgraded to Elite Class 1.
